Bridal prep

I had the warmest welcome to bridal prep this morning, greeted by the two most lovable golden retrievers and bridesmaids for the day- Indie & Arlo
Bride Shan relaxed in the main room whilst being pampered by Gemma who was working away on a beautiful hair and makeup look

Upstairs beyond the winding staircase getting ready were Shan’s friends Hassa & Rabia.

Indie & Arlo kept popping in to check on their progress and made themselves very comfortable in the process, taking their duties as bridesmaids very seriously.

Auntie Amy also popped along to share some love and well wishes for the day ahead and help out with wedding preparations.

Groom Ben was to be found across the road (in the pub ) greeting all the guests as they arrived in Ambleside, ensuring to keep them all hydrated with refreshments on what was a very sunny day!

First look

With her bridal look complete, Shan put on her beautiful elegant wedding dress and it was time for the groom Ben’s first look of his blushing bride.

A heart-warming, emotional moment followed as Ben saw Shan for the first time in her stunning wedding dress and its safe to say she took his breath away.

The couple made their way to the ceremony at Cote How accompanied by their beautiful bridesmaids.

Guests arrived & gathered on the sunny terrace, the guestlist also included some more four legged friends- Tommy, Opal & Ferris.

The backdrop for the ceremony was a feast for the eyes which was set up at the outside barn courtyard and in to the distance, the picturesque views of Grasmere’s lake & mountains.

With everyone seated, Shan was accompanied down the aisle by her Dad – one very proud father of the bride

Surrounded by rustic beams, barn doors and a gorgeous arch filled with cascading foliage, Ben & Shan exchanged rings and their very own specially written vows in a touching, personal ceremony as they became Husband & Wife.

Picture time

Showered by confetti the newlyweds made their way to the drinks reception.

Shortly after came the photo call for all of the attending family and friends- Including the dogs who all stood patiently waiting for their close ups in front of the rustic gate and blooming nature which most definitely felt like a Disney moment all in its self.

Next, the newlyweds took some time for themselves and made their way to the beautiful grounds and Lakeside for an elopement style shoot.

Reception
As the dogs retired to their beds for a very large nap ( as it had been one exciting day for them all ), the humans headed to Lucy’s on a plate for a very lovely evening of delicious food and celebrations.

Shan shared a touching speech expressing so much love and thanks to their guests.

Father of the bride Dave, brought a lot of laughter to the room with this personalised game of Mr & Mr’s- Ben & Shan edition, before a few heart felt words affirming his obvious Love and pride for his daughter and new Son-in-law.

A million congratulations again to the Newlyweds, wishing you a life time of love, laughter and a lot more pets to join your family.
